Multiple microphone input to a computer.

by Velson Horie
(London, UK)

We wish to set up a Skype meeting in about 3 weeks. There will be ca 15 people in a conference room and ca 5 people scattered around the world.

Can you suggest a multiple microphone solution for the conference room that will work with Skype? Suggestions on various bulletin boards focus on the microphones feeding into an analogue mixer plugged into the mike port of the computer which acts as the local source for Skype.

Being a novice at this, I need chapter and verse on the choices and wiring. And of course without too much cost.

Thank you for the useful site.
