Shure SM58 mic foam crumbled away

I have a pretty old Shure SM58 mic that used to have a foam screen over the diaphragm housing that just crumbled away. (See picture for detail.) I know I can replace the screw on windscreen, but is it possible to replace the foam on the diaphragm? If so, how? Is this foam even necessary?

I have the same problem. On a forum somewhere I found that part number. (36A123) But I can't find anywhere to get it.
Do you notice any change in sound?
