Throat Mic for Laptop Use

I am deployed and like to talk to family back home using skype. The microphone that is built into my laptop requires me to speak very loud before it will pick up my voice. This is a hinderance as it disturbs my roommate. I have found plenty of nice throat mics, but they all hace a single plug for a specific type of radio. Is there any throat mics that will plug into the mic and headphone jacks seperate or any adapters that will allow me to do so with a two way radio throat mic? If not, are there any other mics worth consideration that would work with a laptop and allow me to speak in hushed tones effectively?
