Toy Microphone - how to use one.
In this material we are going to talk about the toy microphone. This mic works the same as the standard microphone, which is a very important piece of equipment in the musical industry. It can be used in the recording studio, but also on the stage in order to amplify sound by converting sound waves into electrical signals. It is very hard to imagine how popular singers would perform in front of large audiences without the use of the microphones.
The microphone is also very important when recording because it would be almost impossible for the recording equipment to pick up the vocals or music without the use of this device. Thus, music performed without a mic would definitely lack the quality of sound that audiences are used to today. Of course, there are many microphone types on the market and the difference among them stands in the way they amplify sounds.
Some toy microphones are more like real mics and other ones are just simple toys. We are going to talk about LeapPad Microphone from LeapFrog Toys. This microphone toy works just like a cartridge and it comes with 2 Leap Pad books. The device is very useful for kids who are just learning their ABCs because it is able to convert the letter sounds into writing.
Another microphone toy is The Wiggles: Musical Sing-With-Me from Spin Master. The mic is 8” tall and about 3 1/4” wide. The base of this toy is hard and red and made of plastic. The speaker of the microphone toy is at the bottom so you should not press it against a flat or squishy surface as it tends to muffle the music. On the handle you will find a yellow button that serves as the on/off switch when in “On” mode. When the device is on “Try Me” mode, it plays snips of the songs when pressed.
